The EXCELSIOR Subjects page can be utilized to review series status, as well as initiate image upload and query responses. Improved functionality on the Subjects page include the ability to: 

  • Toggle between all subject visits on a visit dashboard to review series status, including queries
  • Mark a series as NOT DONE if the images were not captured at the visit 
  • Add a new series via a link to the New Series page 
  • View all series created by the site in the Series tab

 

Accessing the Subjects Page

  • Log into EXCELSIOR and select the study of interest:

  • Click to open the site of interest (if user has access to multiple sites)

  • The site landing page defaults to the Subjects tab. A list of all subjects created by the site is displayed:

 

  • The number of subjects displayed can be specified using the “Items per page” function on the lower right of the window:

 

 

  • For each subject, the study eye and query status are displayed. Click on a subject line to view additional information.


 

Subject > Visits Tab

  • On the Subject page, basic subject information is shown in the page header and in the upper left corner. The first view of the subject page is Visits (see tab on the left side of the page): 

 

  • All possible study visits are displayed across the top of the screen. Icons in the tiles indicate the status of the visit in EXCELSIOR: 
    • o   Not Done: Visit was missed and/or no visit images can be submitted.
    • o   No Data: The site has not created a data series for this visit.
    • o   In Progress: The site has created and/or submitted a data series for this visit. The series is in one of the steps of the EXCELSIOR grading workflow.
    • o   Completed: Grading is complete for all data series required for this visit. 
    • o   Visits with open queries display a query icon
  • If there are more study visits, a scroll bar will appear directly below the visit tiles.

 

 

Status and Actions Icons

  • If the status is a workflow step (e.g. Upload, Check-In, Analysis, Grade, Verify, Completed), the data series has been created and is in the EXCELSIOR workflow. Click on the link icon to open the series. NOTE: Viewing of series is dependent on the user’s EXCELSIOR account permissions.
  • If the status is “No Data”, the data series for this procedure has not yet been created by the site. 
    • o   To create the data series and upload image files, click on the “+” icon under Actions. You will be redirected to the “New Series” page to complete the upload process. 

  • o   To indicate that the procedure was missed at the visit and will not be submitted to EXCELSIOR, click on the “no” symbol icon to mark the series as not performed. You will be redirected to a confirmation page to enter a reason for the missing image. Sign off with your EXCELSIOR password and “Submit” to complete the process.

              

Query Icons

  • If the series indicates a query, select it to redirect to the query for that series. (series page)

 

  • Review the query messages, send a response in the message field or add image files, as needed.

Subject > Matrix Tab

  • The Matrix tab displays similar information as the Visits tab in a different format. Status or icons corresponding to a specific procedure and visit can be selected to navigate to upload a new series, view an existing series, or view an open query.


Subject > Queries Tab

  • The Queries tab displays a list of all queries for the site.


 

  • The list defaults to All Open queries. Use the Filter function to view Pending (open and awaiting response from site), Answered (open and awaiting response from EyeKor), or Resolved.


 

  • Selecting a query will redirect you to the corresponding query for further action.

Subject > Series Tab

  • The “Series” tab displays an inventory of all series created for the site. Click on a series or icon to view an existing series or view an open query.
